Più Libri Più Liberi. A seminar on the latest evolution of accessibility legislation

After the cancellation of the 2020 edition due to last year’s health situation, from 4th to 8th December 2021, Più Libri Più Liberi book fair, dedicated to small and medium sized publishers, will return to La Nuvola congress center, designed by the famous architect Massimiliano Fuksas.

For this occasion, Fondazione LIA has planned two events that are part of the initiatives of Aldus UP, the European Book Fairs network promoting the internationalization of the book sector and the innovation of book fairs format:

  • on December 4th a Reading in the dark will host Giulia Caminito author of “L’acqua del lago non è mai dolce”
  • on December 7th a seminar aimed at publishing professionals, will take place.

Focus

From June 2025, the European Accessibility Act will apply to all products and services on the European market, requiring that they meet a series of accessibility requirements in order to improve the market removing barriers in the Member States.

Cristina Mussinelli and Gregorio Pellegrino will provide an overview of the Act contents and the accessibility legislation in order to illustrate the impact of the Directive on the production of digital publication to those working in the publishing field. They will present strategies and practices that publishing house can adopt to get ready for the law’s entry into force and integrate accessibility into their production and distribution workflows.
