For this reason, for years as Fondazione LIA we have been working to create accessible digital ecosystems, starting in the first place with digital publications that we certify as accessible through a symbol, the LIA label.

Making your documents accessible is not only a concrete commitment in terms of inclusiveness, but it also means being in line with the new regulations on the subject and in particular with the European Accessibility Act. Certification

The certification provides for the verification of publications by our team of accessibility and assistive technologies experts, which also includes personnel with visual disabilities who can personally verify the degree of accessibility of the solutions adopted. Documents are always tested on a wide range of devices using different operating systems, in order to check that accessibility is maintained regardless of the type of device used by visually impaired users.

THE LIA LABEL

Bollino LIA

It is a graphic element that makes the certification of accessibility and quality of accessible digital publications visible (PDF, EPUB). Affixed within a document or on the page of a site from which it can be downloaded, the LIA label is intended to uniquely indicate the compliance of that publication with international accessibility standards (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Epub Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Onix for Books 3, Schema.org).

It also allows you to make it recognizable on online stores or on the publisher’s or company’s website as accessible to users with visual impairments, who will be able to proceed with its reading and consultation without problems.

THE CERTIFICATION FLOW

The LIA label also clearly identifies which e-books are certified as accessible among those of the publishers who are members of Fondazione LIA. It is a symbol that allows to make them recognizable on some online stores or digital lending platforms.
