Description
Creating accessible publications is an essential step to implement accessibility, but it is not the only one. Another crucial step is communicating the publication’s accessibility features along the book value chain. Metadata are the perfect tool to achieve that. To comply with the European Accessibility Act, publishers and distributors need to make accessibility metadata available for end users, allowing them to make conscious choices and buy publications in line with their needs.
Learning objectives
At the end of this course participants will be able to produce accessibility metadata and distribute them along the supply chain, in accordance with the international standard and in line with the Europan Accessibility Act’s requirements.

This course applies to anyone in the publishing house directly involved in content creation and distribution.

- how to describe accessibility features using Onix;
- how to describe accessibility features using Schema.org.
