LIA at IPA’s International Publishers Congress

The 34th International Publishers Congress will be held in Guadalajara, December 3-6. The event is organized by the International Publishers Association (IPA), in collaboration with the Mexican Publishers Association (CANIEM) and the Association of American Publishers (AAP). It will run parallel to the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
The Congress is one of the most important events in the global publishing scene. Once every two years, three days of panels, meetings and networking events where the industry’s challenges, strategies and opportunities are discussed.
The theme for the 2024 edition is “Turning Pages: Publishing and the Future Society”. Key issues for the future of the industry such as copyright, press freedom and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in different market segments (trade, scholastic, STM) will be addressed.
Fondazione LIA will be present at the Congress with Elisa Molinari, APACE Project Manager and LIA spokesperson within the Federation of European Publishers (FEP) Accessibility Task Force and the Publishing Accessibility Action Group.
Elisa Molinari, Kristina Kramer (Börsenverein) and Ana María Bermudez (PRH Grupo Editorial) will take part in the session Accessibility: How Digital Publishing Can Enhance the Reading Experience for All. The panel will discuss how publishers can make use of accessibility-based workflows to make ebooks a better product for all readers. The event will be held on December 5 at 3 p.m. at the Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas.
