The European Accessibility Act will be introduced shortly, on June 28th, 2025. According to this new legislative framework, websites, apps, and digital contents in all the European Union must be compliant with the accessibility standards foreseen by the law. For a smooth transition toward an accessible digital ecosystem, it is crucial that companies transform their workflows to make their products and services accessible.

BISG (Book Industry Study Group) is organising the webinar “Digital Accessibility and the EAA: Ensuring compliance by June 28“. The session is one of a series, conducted by accessibility experts, with the goal of provide suggestions and knowledge to professionals.

The event

This webinar will help companies offering products or services in understanding which strategies to adopt regarding accessibility.

Gregorio Pellegrino, Chief Accessibility Officer at Fondazione LIA, will be one of the speakers invited: as one of the editor of the Accessibility Metadata Display Guide for Digital Publications 2.0, his talk will cover accessibility metadata. The panel will also include speakers: Allison C. Belan, Associate Director for Digital Strategy and Publishing Systems at Duke University Press, and Rick Johnson, VP of Product Strategy and one of the founders of VitalSource.
